What this blog is all about...

Camping, hiking and biking Texas state parks is a great way to get out and have some fun. But most of the sites have very few pictures or sparse descriptions. This blog is here to provide more information on places you might like to visit. So go out and enjoy Texas.

National Parks

Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Sulphur, Oklahoma
Okay, so it's not in Texas.  It's really close! We went in February so that's why all the snow.  It is a really pretty park.  There are six campgrounds but we stayed in a local cabin that was really very nice and enjoyed watching the buffalo and the snow.

Fort Davis National Historic Site in Fort Davis
Fort Davis is one of the best preserved surviving forts.  It is set in the Davis Mountains and there is a hiking trail between the Davis Mountains State Park and the FDNHS where some of the pictures at the end were taken.  The cannon is shot off once a day and it is very cool to see.  We didn't expect that much when we went to the site but we actually loved it.
